Caldo Verde

Caldo Verde (Portuguese for "green broth") is a popular soup in Portuguese cuisine. The basic ingredients for caldo Verde are potatoes, onions and kale (some recipes call for collard greens instead). Common additional ingredients are garlic, salt, and olive oil. Some recipes add meat, such as ham hock, making it similar to Italian wedding soup.

The soup is often accompanied by slices of chouriço or linguiça, or with Portuguese broa cornbread for dipping. In Portugal, caldo Verde is typically consumed during Portuguese celebrations, such as weddings. It is sometimes consumed before a main course meal or as a late supper. Here you get a simple and easy Caldo Verde recipe.
 
Preparation Time : 5-10 minutes

Ingredients
Spinach, chopped 30 leaves
Potatoes, boiled and grated 3 medium
Oil 1 tablespoon
Onion ,chopped 1 medium
Vegetable stock 4 cup
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
ANANDA TONED MILK 1/2 cup
Method
  • Heat oil in a deep pan.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté for a couple of minutes taking care that the color of onion does not change.
  • Add the vegetable stock and bring it to a boil.
  • Add grated potatoes and finely chopped spinach leaves and cook till the leaves are tender.
  • Add salt to taste and black pepper powder. Add ANANDA TONED MILK And bring to a boil. Serve piping hot.
